.FR: Liberalization results in increasing registrations
InterNetX is amongst the 10 most successful registrars participating in the opening of .FR.
The liberalization of the registry policy for the TLDs managed by the French registry AFNIC, namely .FR, .RE, .WF, .TF, .PM, .YT, took place on December 6, 2011. It was met with a lot of interest - just a few hours after being opened to Europe, several thousand new domain registrations were recorded for the French TLDs. InterNetX holds one of the top positions amongst the 10 most successful registrars for this.
Thanks to this liberalization, anyone who is resident or has a registered company in the European Union can register domains under the French TLDs. Considering the popularity of French domains, this opens several promising market opportunities that are certain to result in profit.
