InterNetX experts take part in the Munich Conference on new TLDs

On September 26 and 27, 2011, international experts discuss the introduction of the new domain extensions at the Munich Conference on new TLDs. InterNetX is gold sponsor of the event.

(REGENSBURG – MUNICH, September 26, 2011) – On September 26 and 27 the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost hotel hosts the Munich Conference on new TLDs. The conference offers the participants the chance to get first hand info about the application process for the new TLDs from the experts of the industry. The introduction of the new domains enters its final phase with the beginning of the official application period in January. Over 100 applicants have applied for their own TLD prior to the event. InterNetX supports the conference as gold sponsor.

“The experience of the established registrys and registrars is an invaluable source of information for the new registrys. From our point of view, the most interesting aspect is what questions and expectations exist on the part of the new registrys and how the cooperation can be improved. The Munich Conference on new TLDs is the biggest discussion forum in Europe on this topic and therefore of tremendous importance to us,” explains Hakan Ali, founder and Director of Sales and Marketing at the Regensburg-based Internet Service Provider.

The conference participants will explore three main topics: They will discuss how brand owners can protect their brands, how interest groups can run their own registry and what has to be considered in the application process for the nTLDs. On the morning of the second conference day Stefan Legner, team leader of product management at InterNetX, holds a lecture on the coordination of the marketing strategies of registrys and registrars.

A variety of interest groups have registered for the conference. First, there are groups and organizations that want to establish their own TLD. These include companies as well as cities, states and institutions under public law. In addition to registrars and resellers, there are also parties attending who are indirectly affected by the introduction of new TLDs, such as trademark attorneys and corporate lawyers.
