InterNetX is Silver Sponsor at 40th ICANN Meeting, San Francisco

The new gTLD Applicant Guidebook will again be the central theme at this event, the first of three meetings in 2011 – InterNetX is supporting this branch meeting as a silver sponsor

(REGENSBURG - SAN FRANCISCO, March 11, 2011) – San Franciscoʼs technology center, Silicon Valley, is host to the 40th rotating ICANN Meeting. The international Internet branch is getting together from March 13 - 18, 2011, to discuss the latest developments around nTLDs and more. InterNetX, based in Regensburg, is one of the leading registrars worldwide and, as a silver sponsor, will be present with its own company booth at this first ICANN event of the year. Conference participants will get more detailed information from the ICANN accredited registrar about over 300 ccTLDs and gTLDs it has on offer – as well as individual server and SSL solutions, that also fall under the product portfolio of the Internet Service Provider.

The results of the previous meeting in Brussels, where ICANN and the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) discussed controversial questions surrounding nTLDs, will be presented at the upcoming meeting. ICANN has however, already announced that there will be no final decision for the applicant guidebook for new generic top level domains in San Francisco, as there have been further delays caused by political intervention. So far, nobody is able to provide any definite dates for the progress of the latest version of the new gTLD Applicant Guidebook. What is certain though, is that the 41st meeting in Jordanian Amman has been cancelled due to political unrest – the island and city-state, Singapore, has been selected as the alternative location.

None other than Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States of America, has been announced as a speaker at the meeting in Silicon Valley, where he will be talking about the Internet as a unifying element in the world. “Weʼre expecting an exciting meeting in San Francisco, that does not only revolve around the subject of nTLDs, but also delivers optimal networking requirements. As the technology center of the world, Silicon Valley is the perfect setting for a specialist conference in the Internet branch and for InterNetX,” says Hakan Ali, Sales and Marketing Director at InterNeX. For six days, starting March 13, the eyes of the Internet community will once again be focused on an ICANN event with the participation of InterNetX.
