The SecureSite Pro certificate – with real 256 Bit encryption – can also bring browser versions with a lower encryption rate (e.g. 50 Bit) up to the full 256 Bit rate. This allows maximum protection for customers who use older browser versions. Additionally, the SecureSite Pro certificate offers highest compatibility with cellular phones or mobile end devices.
The validation process is carried out via Whois inquiry and a confirmation call by VeriSign. The company which applied for the certificate is then included in the signed certificate and becomes immediately apparent to website visitors.

The VeriSign SSL certificates can only be issued to applicants or companies that are recorded in the commercial register. Certificates are not issued for private persons or companies constituted under civil law which are not listed in the commercial register.
After receiving your order, VeriSign begins with the verification of the applicant. In order to do this, it looks for the company in the available databases. If the applicant is verified, a telephone call is made to the specified administrative contact person. After the contact person has been reached VeriSign issues the certificate.
