InterNetX: Almost 1 million registered .AT domains

The Austrian registry nic.at will soon be announcing 1,000,000 registered .AT domains – InterNetX kicks off a special offer as .AT reaches new heights.

(REGENSBURG, December 16, 2010) – As 2010 draws to an end, the ccTLD looks set to break the magical barrier of 1 million registered domains. The Austrian registry nic.at is the official authority for the allocation of all domains with the extension .AT, as well as .CO.AT and .OR.AT. With AutoDNS 3.0, the domain management software developed by InterNetX, .AT domains can be registered and managed in real time – and this can also be carried out within the framework of a special offer.

The registry nic.at has been in charge of the ccTLD .AT since 1998. Since then, it has notched around 100,000 new registrations on average per year, with continuously increasing registration figures. Statistically, there is currently one .AT domain for every eight citizens in the Republic of Austria. This also mirrors the acceptance and potential of the ccTLD. The .AT boom also reaches into the secondary domain market. A comparison of the last quarter in 2009 and the first in 2010 shows an increase in average sales revenue of around 50 %. It’s not a surprise that the upcoming Domain pulse – one of the most important events for current domain themes in the German-speaking area – is taking place in the Austrian capital, Vienna. InterNetX will be present at this branch meeting as a gold sponsor.
