(REGENSBURG – CARTAGENA DE INDIAS, December 2, 2010) – The 39th Public ICANN Meeting is taking place in Cartagena de Indias from December 5 to 10, 2010. InterNetX is participating in the meeting and is once again supporting what is often considered one of the most important events in the branch as a silver sponsor. The international meeting, spanning six days, is where all the big players of the Internet branch get together. The registry .CO Internet S.A.S. is hosting the event this time and the Convention Center of Cartagena is expected to house some very exciting discussions about the latest draft of the “new gTLD Applicant Guidebook”. In the future, all applications for new TLDs must be made in accordance with the final version.
InterNetX will be welcoming visitors at their own stand. Amongst other products, the Internet Service Provider will be presenting their latest development, DomainSafe, which protects valuable domains against unauthorized third-party access via the domain management system AutoDNS 3.0. Visitors can also get more information from the accredited ICANN registrar about more than 300 TLDs, as well as the individual SSL and server solutions offered by InterNetX.
“.CO Internet S.A.S. is hosting this ICANN event in Latin America and we are extremely pleased to accept our partner’s invitation. For us, the top level domain administered by the .CO registry is one of the TLDs of the year. InterNetX is the first European registrar accredited for .CO domains, making us a European flagship for .CO at the event. We are also eagerly awaiting to find out what consensus will be reached at the meeting regarding nTLDs and which decisions will be made to point the way for the introduction of new gTLDs”, says Hakan Ali, Sales and Marketing Director at InterNetX. For exactly this reason, the entire internet community will be looking to Latin America with anticipation at the end of the year.
