InterNetX sponsors 41st ICANN Meeting in Singapore

New generic top-level domains are again at the top of the agenda for the 41st ICANN Meeting taking place in Singapore – InterNetX is a silver sponsor

(REGENSBURG, June 16, 2011) – ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is welcoming participants to the 41st meeting, taking place in the South Asian city state of Singapore, from June 19 to 24, 2011. InterNetX, based in the Bavarian city of Regensburg, is supporting this global gathering of the Internet community as a silver sponsor. The Internet Service Provider will also be at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore with its own booth (#8), where over 1,500 conference participants can get detailed information about InterNetX products – more than 300 ccTLDs and gTLDs worldwide, high-performance server solutions and several SSL certificates from different leading providers.

This meeting is the second out of three being held in 2011, and once again, the introduction of the new generic top-level domains (short: new gTLDs or nTLDs) will be the main point of focus. As soon as a positive decision has been made regarding the applicant guidebook for the new gTLDs, InterNetX customers will be able to use the company’s domain management software AutoDNS 3.0 to place non-binding preregistrations for selected nTLDs – amongst others, these include .AFRICA, .BAYERN, .BERLIN, .BIKE, .BOARD, .ECO, .FLORIDA, .FREE, .GAY, .GREEN, .HAMBURG, .HOTEL, .LOVE, .MUSIC and already .XXX. Numerous branch experts are expecting the final release of the applicant guidelines to take place on June 20, 2011.

“The InterNetX development, AutoDNS 3.0, has been set up for the introduction of the new TLDs for some time already. We can expect a jolt to spread throughout the branch after the decisions coming from Singapore – InterNetX is already fully equipped to deal with this”, says Hakan Ali, Director of Sales and Marketing at the registrar.

Apart from nTLDs, the themes IPv6 and DNSSEC will be central in several events in Singapore too. InterNetX is amongst the leading providers of these future-oriented technologies as well and has been IPv6 and DNSSEC ready for some time now. The ICANN event in Singapore offers conference participants a total of 100 workshops, podium discussions, presentations and evening events. Singapore is hosting this ICANN event for the second time, after Amman in Jordan was no longer considered an option due to political unrest.

Auch beim zweiten von insgesamt drei Meetings in 2011 wird sich alles um die Einführung der neuen generischen Top-Level-Domains drehen (kurz: neue gTLDs oder nTLDs). Sobald eine positive Entscheidung über das Bewerberhandbuch der neuen gTLDs getroffen wurde, können InterNetX Kunden über die inhouse entwickelte Domain-Management-Software AutoDNS 3.0 ausgewählte nTLDs unverbindlich vorregistrieren – hierzu zählen unter anderem .AFRICA, .BAYERN, .BERLIN, .BIKE,
.BOARD, .ECO, .FLORIDA, .FREE, .GAY, .GREEN, .HAMBURG, .HOTEL, .LOVE, .MUSIC und bereits jetzt .XXX. Der Zeitpunkt der endgültigen Verabschiedung der Bewerbungsregeln wird von vielen Branchen-Experten für den 20. Juni 2011 erwartet.
