The InterNetX Online Racing Days – Speed, Performance and Precision
The road show unites motor sports and the IT industry. Together with a number of partners, InterNetX will display a Lamborghini R-EX and demonstrate the many different new opportunities the domain industry has to offer in 2015.
Domains are the most important navigational tools on the Internet. After 30 years, Internet addresses play a vital role in online communication, connecting the online and offline worlds. Each advertising campaign works with a domain: Every TV spot, each billboard and every newspaper ad includes an Internet address.
The introduction of new domain extensions (new gTLDs) is having a profound impact on the industry. More than 700 extensions have already gone online, several hundreds more will follow till the end of the year – and every single one increases the variety and opportunities on the Internet.
The racing team Reiter Engineering, which is participating in the ADAC GT Masters with its supercar, is among the users of new domain extensions. The tuning specialists run their web shop under www.reiter.engineering. InterNetX has been a permanent premium partner of the racing experts since 2012 – and is now teaming up with them for the InterNetX Online Racing Days, a big event series. Hakan Ali, the founder and CMO of InterNetX, sees close connections between the IT industry and racing. "A race is all about performance, precision and perfectly timed processes" says Hakan Ali. "In the same way, all steps have to be thoroughly calculated and coordinated when managing large domain or SSL portfolios or when planning server capacities. If you don’t deliver the maximum performance each second, you will be left behind."
Together with additional partners of the domain industry, InterNetX and Reiter Engineering will display a Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX on three industry events. The 600 hp supercar will first be shown at the leading industry fair for the digital economy, dmexco, on September 16 and 17. The next stop on September 22 and 23 will be at one of the most important industry events for the hosting business, at HostingCon Europe in Amsterdam. The Online Racing Days will finally enter the home stretch at Bits & Pretzels, one of the largest founder conferences in Europe, from September 27 to 29.
Between these events, the Lamborghini will start at the ADAC GT Masters in Zandvoort, Netherlands on September 19 and 20. Nick Catsburg, the winner of the 24 Hours of Spa, and the 2010 ADAC GT Masters Champion Albert von Thurn und Taxis will take over the wheel. More than 10,000 visitors are expected at the racetrack. Both racing days will be broadcast live on Sport1. One million viewers watch the races on their TV.
