TMCH now also for .com domains

Trademark Clearinghouse Service is now also possible for .com domains.

The TMCH Service is now also available for .com. The extended reach of the service for protecting trademarks under gTLD domains offers a more comprehensive overview of possible infringements regarding intellectual property.

Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) is a central database for trademark claims under various new gTLDs – and now also under .com.

The database was set up by the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
In order to protect trademarks under the respective gTLDs, trademark owners have to submit their trademarks to be listed in TMCH.

What does TMCH do when my trade name is registered under .com?

This update means that those registered in TMCH receive messages as soon as a .com domain is registered that uses your trade name or a variation of it. In this way, trademark owners are informed and can decide whether they would like to take further action such as invoking the UDRP (Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy).

How can I use TMCH at InterNetX?

As an accredited TMCH agent, InterNetX supports trademark owners with advice during the TMCH validation. The InterNetX TMCH Agent provides comprehensive documentation in English and German, leads the trademark owner through the process and checks all submitted documents and details to ensure that everything is complete and correctly submitted. The trademark protection via TMCH has already been extended at InterNetX and is available for .com domains.
